Container liner freight calculation
(1) The structure of freight in container transportation
The calculation principle of freight in container liner transport is similar to that in breakbulk liner transport, but it also has its own characteristics. For example, some loading and unloading charge clauses in charter transport have also been introduced into container liner transport.
(2)Billing method
That is, the basic freight and additional freight are stipulated in the rate table, and the rates and calculation methods are given.
There are two basic freight calculation methods in container liner transportation:
① The same method is used to calculate the basic freight for ordinary grocery liner transportation, and the basic freight is calculated according to the grade of goods and different charging standards for specific routes.
② For specific routes, the basic freight rate is calculated based on the cargo grade and box type and size, or only based on the box type and size without considering the type and level of the cargo.
The container rate refers to the freight rate charged for a unit container.
The box rate is also called the "Flat Rate (FAK)". When calculating the basic freight rate of a container using the box rate, you only need to multiply the rate specified by the specific route, cargo grade, box type and size by the number of boxes.
Surcharges in container liner shipping are also similar to those in breakbulk liner shipping.
(3)Demurrage
Demurrage in container liner transportation refers to the fee charged by the carrier to the owner of the container if the owner fails to go to the designated container yard or container freight station to pick up the goods and return the container within the prescribed free storage practice. , also called demurrage fee in practice. Demurrage is calculated on a daily basis.
